Income tax refers to the tax levied by the Government of India on the earnings of the nation’s people and businesses. The Income Tax department administers this annually filed tax and the revenue generated. The Central Board of Direct Taxes, governed by the Ministry of Finance, upholds several direct taxation-related laws, rules, and regulations. Aaykar Sampark Kendra (ASK)

Aaykar Sampark Kendra or ASK assists the taxpayers with their queries related to income tax, Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Tax Collection Account Number (TAN). The toll-free income tax helpline no for general enquiries is (+91) 1800-180-1961 and is available for assistance from Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm.

PAN/TAN

This income tax customer care helpdesk helps resolve the queries of a taxpayer related to the applications of issuance or update of PAN or TAN. This is when the NSDL website authorises the applications. The income tax helpline number is (+91) 2027218080, and it assists daily from 7 am to 11 pm.

E-filing and Centralized Processing Center

The e filing customer care numbers are (+91) 18001030025, (+91) 18004190025, (+91) 8046122000 and (+91) 8061464700. Customer care assists a taxpayer in resolving their queries related to income tax e-filing through the e-filing portal. Help is given to those who ask for it from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm and 9 am to 6 pm on Saturdays.

TDS Centralised Processing Centre (TRACES)

For questions about TDS Centralised Processing Centre or TRACES, Form 15CA, Form 16, Form 26AS, and TDS statement, one can contact the income tax department customer care number at (+91) 120-4814600 (Helpline) or (+91) 1800-103-0344 (Toll-free). This facility is open from Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm.
