The entire nation was placed on lockdown for a few months in 2020 and 2021. Officials in the financial industry were among the front-runners at this time. As a result, Canara Bank and all the other banks kept offering banking services to the public. However, the timings were altered, and people had to follow COVID-specific guidelines. 

Banking hours were shortened during the pandemic, with most institutions operating from 10 am onwards, while the closing time was set at 2 pm. During this time, only emergency banking services were handled. Therefore, non-urgent requests, including passbook updates and KYC, were put on hold till further notice.

Canara Bank Timings Post COVID-19 Lockdown

Normal bank working hours, from 10 am to 3:30 pm, came into effect as soon as the situation was under control. Canara Bank branch offices remain closed on Saturdays except on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. To protect its clients and employees from the Coronavirus, Canara Bank lowered the number of employees working at their branches and prohibited non-essential activities, such as passbook updates.

The bank presently offers all banking services, including printing of passbooks, establishing accounts, cash deposits and withdrawals, clearing of checks, remittances, government transactions, and other banking activities.
